about me

Roberta Basarbolieva moved to Malta back in 2001 to look for a warmer place with more sea than her native Bulgaria.
Her qualifications include:
-
Bachelor of Arts (English Hons.) from the University of Malta
-
Master in TESOL from the University of Malta
-
CIEP Proofreading courses
After working as an EFL teacher for 8 years and preparing learners for everything from work life to university exams, she now trains teachers how to apply IT techniques and modern methodologies in their classroom, as well as how to speak more fluent English.
In the evenings, Roberta writes content for a variety of business websites, proofreads dissertations and symposium journals, and edits horror and urban fantasy books. The variety keeps her detail-oriented and on her toes.
In her free time, she enjoys learning new languages, among which Spanish, German and Japanese, and petting cats, of which there are many on the island.
Her main interest has always been reading, and she enjoys immersing herself in urban fantasy (Jim Butcher, Ben Aaronovitch), fantasy (Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman), science fiction (Isaac Asimov, Clifford Simak), horror (Stephen King) and the occasional romance, making for varied and always-exciting reading.
